For Immediate Release

June 12, 2019

West Hempstead, NY — June 12, 2019 — HAMCO Paper is pleased to announce that they have paper straws in stock. The recently passed ban on plastic straws in Suffolk County, does not take effect until January 2020 but many restaurants and beverage servers are searching for a non-plastic straw supplier.

HAMCO owner Jim Brymer is excited to let Suffolk County restaurants and other beverage servers know that he has paper straws ready to go! These are not wax coated, but rather made with organic glue that does not affect taste or feel and last up to 6-hours in liquid. The straws are currently available in both black and white in a paper wrapper in 7 ¾” standard and a 5 ¾” cocktail sizes. Both the straws and paper wrappers can be customized to fit your needs. Because HAMCO is a wholesaler, their prices are extremely competitive.

Steve Bellone, County Executive signed the measure on Earth Day, April 22nd in a fitting tribute to helping to reduce waste in the area. The measure, which also includes Styrofoam containers and other single-use items, will be phased in over a multi-month period.

Don’t wait until the last minute to make the switch! HAMCO is local, has these straws in stock and delivers! For an immediate price quote for your specific needs, please call Jim at 516-489-2313 “our motto is ‘you call us, you’ve got it!”
